NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Inspector, Level 2 or 3 FPI and MPI

Job Description: 

The NDT Inspector Shall have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret, and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document test results in accordance with NDT procedures in the applicable method (FPI/MPI).

Technical Skills:

  • Must be able to certify to the requirements of NAS-410 (equivalent).
  • Be able to follow work instructions
  • Have the skills and knowledge to process parts, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instruction
  • Have the skills and knowledge to carry out any necessary preparation of parts before or after testing in accordance with approved work instructions
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standard
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and level 1 personnel
  • Be familiar with the Standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as used by the employer
  • When specified in the written practice, be capable of developing work instructions from approved general procedure. Such work instructions shall require final approval by a level 3 certified in the method
  • Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology
  • Be able to perform calibrations relevant to the methods
  • Maintain NDT equipment
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret customer specifications and standard practice manuals
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must exhibit good communication skills.

Experience and Education:

  • Must provide evidence of High School diploma (or GED equivalence) is required
  • Must provide evidence of training and certification to a minimum of one (1) year experience as a Level 2 in FPI and MPI.
  • Training evidence must include copies of composite testing scores (general, specific, and practical exams) and OJT Other duties or tasks as assigned. This job description is subject to change at any time
